A New Day and A New Year…

I don’t have many traditions for New Year’s Day, but I do try to watch the Rose Parade and at least consider what the New Year will bring and what I would like to work on during the next year from a personal point of view.

This year, as per usual for the last few, one of those things I would like to work on is my weight. I am not a lot over weight, maybe 5 to 10 pounds, but I would like to nip this in the bud before I AM! Instead of a diet, I am going to try to just get us to eat healthier this year and raise our activity level up….. and obviously I mean for all that to start later on because we spent today eating a lot of junk and watching TV! LOL! I also want to get back into the habit of exercising at least 4 days a week. I’ve really neglected both the eating healthy and the exercise during the Holidays, but it is time to get back on track!

My other big ‘plan’ is to try to spend more time working on my photography (and maybe having something to post here… I used to post a lot of my pictures/experiments once upon a time). I have this really nice camera and I don’t do enough with it anymore. I took very few pictures last year, and did even less with them. I need to ‘find my muse’ again. And, I don’t want to just work with my camera, I also want to try to spend a little more time nurturing my artistic side. I’m going to try to do a few more of the memes out there and try to remember how much I actually enjoy getting out there and taking pictures!

Nothing world shattering, just a hmmmm, that is the direction I need to be going in. I like that better than Resolutions, because the minute I say a will do something it is as if my whole psyche sets out to find a way not to do it…

What are YOU planning for the New Year?

Hi, I just found your blog, but you've inspired me. I have a bit more weight to lose than you, about 10-15 lbs., but no more excuses or procrastination for me. Beautiful imagery on your blog!

Hmmm, I could have written your entry as I am experiencing almost everything you've written. I wish you the best in 2010 and hope you reach your goals.

I read somewhere that Winter is the worst time to make resolutions and set life goals. It's because our bodies and brains are in a low, slow cycle or something. Spring is better -- so that's what I'm waiting for. ;)

Me, I have enough goals left over from last year to carry through into this one but I do have one new one. I hope to listen to that inner voice better. It seems to keep me out of trouble when I do...and I end up to my neck in trouble when I don't. You'd think I'd have learned by now but for some reason I just have to give people a chance even when that voice tells me not too........

I was telling Sonny earlier this year (last month) that I want to spend more time with my camera .. not working with the camera. But like you, nuturing the artistic, creative side. Having fun with the camera with nature.

Wishing you a happy healthy 2010! Thank you for visiting my blog.

Yeah, me too... weight to lose, but this time it's not a resolution. It's a life style decision. Plus I got a new elliptical machine for Christmas and have started working on it. It's working! I'm excited that you got a new camera... I've got a feeling that when spring arrives you will find plenty of material to capture your camera's eye and your imagination. Can't wait to see what you've discovered. Just have fun with it... play with it, don't think about the perfect photo... just think about what you are seeing and how it makes you feel.
